Platinum-binding peptides: understanding of selective binding and multifunctionality

چکیده
Abstract Platinum-binding peptides have been used for fabrication of complex platinum nanomaterials such as catalysts, metallopharmaceuticals, and electrodes. In this review, we present understanding the mechanisms behind platinum-binding (Pt-binding) applications multifunctional biomaterials. We discuss how surface recognition, roles individual amino acids, arrangement acid sequences interplay. Our summary on current state Pt-binding highlights opportunities interdisciplinary research which will expand applicability these peptides.

Selective Binding of Cyclic Nanopeptide with Halides and Ion Pairs; a DFT-D3 Study
In this article, theoretical studies on the selective complexation of the halide ions (F¯, Cl¯ and Br¯) and ion pairs (Na+F¯, Na+Cl¯ and Na+Br¯) with the cyclic nano-hexapeptide (CP) composed of L-proline have been performed in the gas phase. In order to calculate the dispersion interaction energies of the CP and ions, DFT-D3 calculations at the M05-2X-D3/6-31G(d) level was employed. Based on t...
متن کاملManganese and Iron Binding to Human Transferrin
The characteristics of manganese and iron binding to human apotransferrin (apo-tf) have been investigated and compared in this study. Both metal ions were taken up by human apo-tf and formed complexes, with the maximum absorbances observed at 410 and 340 nm for manganese-transferrin (Mn-tf) and 465 nm for iron-transferrin (Fe-tf). Addition of manganese (1.5 µg/ml) to the reaction mixture contai...
متن کاملBiodiscovery of Aluminum Binding Peptides
Cell surface peptide display systems are large and diverse libraries of peptides (7-15 amino acids) which are presented by a display scaffold hosted by a phage (virus), bacteria, or yeast cell. This allows the selfsustaining peptide libraries to be rapidly screened for high affinity binders to a given target of interest, and those binders quickly identified. Peptide display systems have traditi...
